Google announces Chrome for iPhone and iPad

It’s been rumored for a while, but today Google is officially announcing the Chrome browser for the iPhone and iPad. There had been some question as to whether or not Google would bring their popular browser to iOS, since they would be unable to implement some of their secret sauce, like their customer javascript engine.

It appears that Google does indeed want to bring Chrome to your iOS devices, and they demonstrated what they expect will be their killer feature – the ability to sync across devices. They demonstrated both iPhones and iPad accessing the pages open on other devices, and even signing in to The New York Times on an iPad, despite it being the first time the demo had been run on that unit (because your sign in credentials are also synced).

The app should be available in the Apple App Store later today. So we ask you iPhone and iPad users – are you excited about Chrome coming to you, or are you happy with Mobile Safari?
